From one of the ost renowned winemakers of the Northern Rhone, these wines from Stephane Ogier are part of a refined winery allotment and a unique opportunity to own and taste slightly older vintages no longer available in market.
Close in style to another Stephane Ogier product - La Rosine - with its elegant and finesse-driven style, l'Ame Soeur IGP oozes class with complex blackberry, raspberry, crushed rock, peppery spice and hints of flowers all emerging from the glass. Medium-bodied, impressively concentrated, with classic Northern Rhone purity and focus, it is a brilliant value that should drink nicely for a decade.
This wine may be classified as Vin de Pays / IGP but the quality easily justifies its own appellation.
Versatile with a number of meats with a delicate texture such as roasted quail or chicken.

I had my first taste of these wines when visiting Stephane Ogier in Cote Rotie last summer, when his 100% syrah L’ame Soeur stood out for its aromatic vitality and smoky sweet fruit. This was unmistakable northern Rhone syrah, from vines that were not officially within the Rhone wine region, and yet were planted in Seyssuel, just a 15 minute drive from the town of Ampuis where we were tasting.
